We’ve all heard the saying “soft as a baby’s butt” and it turns out it’s more than just a saying.
Long relegated to changing tables and tucked away at the bottom of diaper bags, baby products have yet to receive the mainstream credit they deserve for going over their weight when it comes to helping – and helping – and helping. cure – sensitive skin.
With most baby products on the market carefully formulated to be extremely gentle and nourishing for delicate skin, it makes sense that they could also have the same effectiveness in reducing irritation on adult skin.
So why haven’t we thought about it before?
To help us navigate the world of adult baby products, we brought in Kirsty Gow-Gates, founder and CEO of the luxury baby care brand. Lullaby skin care.
Here are his tips.

Can using baby care products be the answer to help sensitive skin? Why?
Much like a baby’s delicate skin, sensitive adult skin requires gentle care and will almost always respond to products containing toxic ingredients, certain essential oils, and heavy synthetic fragrances. These ingredients are too harsh on sensitive skin and will cause irritations like eczema, rashes, and even serious breathing problems.
It is ideal to use the best of what nature has to offer and what is biocompatible with your face and body. Sensitive skin can benefit from pure, natural baby lotions, baby wash products, baby hair care products and sunscreens that do not contain synthetics like you will find with most brands on the market. .
What common childcare items can adults also use and for what? Surprising people?
The use of baby products is more common and less strange than you might first think – many adults use baby body and hair cleansers, baby moisturizers and sunscreens specially formulated for the skin baby.
Here is a surprising one – Nappy Cream! The purpose of a diaper cream is to create a barrier between the skin and moisture to reduce the risk of irritation and rashes. Lullaby Skincare Diaper Cream can be used as a multi-purpose cream for sensitive skin, composed of beautiful organic ingredients such as Aloe Vera, lanolin, avocado oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E, it calms and protects irritated skin soothes rashes, calms redness, hydrates itchy dry skin, and smoothes chapped elbows and knees.
What ingredients should people with sensitive skin look for and avoid in products?
High quality natural and organic ingredients are important for sensitive skin. Cold pressed Aloe Vera is a magical ingredient that soothes, heals, hydrates and protects. In addition to Aloe Vera, other nourishing and nourishing ingredients ideal for sensitive skin include jojoba oil, avocado oil, chamomile, and vitamin E.
On the other hand, most conventional products on the market are also likely to contain mineral oils (petroleum and paraffin), parabens, phthalates, PPGs, dyes, sulfates, triclosan, bisphenol (BPA) and formaldehyde donars. These can lead to mild allergic reactions such as a rash or irritation, or even larger problems such as skin damage.
It is also not recommended to use soap as a shower gel for sensitive, delicate or eczema-prone skin. Soap is extremely dehydrating and drying for sensitive skin, and many types of soap alter the skin’s natural pH, clearing out healthy bacteria and removing vital oils.
And the SPF?
We all know it’s so important to apply sunscreen every day, but many conventional sunscreen brands use poor quality synthetic fillers and harsh ingredients (and that’s why they’re often cheaper. ). Even some popular zinc-based sunscreens contain mild irritants such as cetearyl alcohol, polyhydroxystearic acid and sorbitan stearate, castor oil and other oils, which lead to sensitivity and allergies … definitely not ideal. for rashes either!
Try a broad spectrum sunscreen without fillers and see if it makes a difference.
