Plastic fears recalls of Tesco baby food and other supermarket foods

Supermarkets, including Tescos and Morrisons, are asking customers to return items for safety concerns.

Alerts have been issued by the Food Standards Agency (FCA) for a range of products, including baby food, soy chips, soup and low-sugar protein bars.

The recalls include undeclared ingredients and the discovery of small pieces of blue plastic in baby food.

Tesco

Tesco is recalling Tesco Cottage Pie 190g baby food from the marketplace because it may contain small pieces of blue plastic which would render the product unfit for consumption.

Product Details:

  • Product size – 190g
  • Expiration date – June 12, 2022

If you bought the product, don’t eat it. Instead, return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Morrisons

Morrisons is recalling Morrisons Minestrone Soup because some packages contain celery, which was not declared on the ingredient label.

The product is a possible health risk for anyone allergic to celery.

Product Details:

  • Expiry date – June 16, 2021

If you purchased the product and are allergic to celery, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

The Skinny Food Co

The Skinny Food Co is recalling Skinny High Protein Low Sugar duo bar varieties, due to incorrect allergen labeling and higher milk levels than stated on the ingredient label.

The label contains a warning that the product contains “traces of milk” which is incorrect. This means that the products present a risk to the health of anyone who is allergic or intolerant to milk or its components.

If you have purchased any of the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk components, do not eat them.

KGN London

KGN London is recalling Mr Healthy BBQ Soy Chips from the marketplace because they contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.

This means that the product poses a health risk to anyone allergic to peanuts.

  • Expiration date – November 2021

If you have purchased this product, do not eat it if you are allergic to peanuts. Instead, return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
