The couple wanted to help new parents who may be struggling to make ends meet

Welcoming a baby into the family is a privileged and precious moment. It is also incredibly expensive. So much so that for some families, the struggle to financially support their new bundle of joy can cause immense stress. After experiencing financial hardship following the birth of their first child, a California couple are now helping new parents in similar situations – by hiding money in baby products at Target.

Krystal Duhaney and her husband left $ 1,000 in cash in baby products like diapers and infant formula at various Target stores in Southern California, according to the ABC affiliate. KABC. Duhaney, a mom herself, wanted to help after overcoming her own struggles as a new mom.

“When we had our first baby, we struggled to make ends meet,” she wrote in the clip. “Now that I have a successful business, I wanted to give back. “

So she and her husband decided to go to some local targets and hide some money.

“We really wanted to make things a little easier,” Duhaney told KABC. “I hope to brighten up their day and hopefully inspire others to somehow, you know, spread joy and kindness.”

Duhaney, the founder of Milky Mama, an organization that helps mothers breastfeed, shared the post of her first Target adventure on Instagram. In the video, Duhaney and her husband carefully slip dollar bills into diaper boxes and under unopened formula lids at Target stores.

“We hope parents who buy these items will have a brighter day when they find our freebies,” she wrote alongside the video.

Duhaney’s post has since gone viral with nearly 95,000 likes and tons of comments from people in awe of the couple’s generous spirit.

‘This is incredible. Please give back in this way, ”one user wrote.

“It’s beautiful! Thank you for bringing smiles to the families who will receive these gifts,” added another.

The mother-of-two (and a registered nurse) wanted to make it known that she and her husband have been careful to invest the money in a way that doesn’t tamper with any of the products, especially as the nation struggles to overcome COVID- 19.

“The diaper containers are sealed. The diapers are packaged in the box as well as the formula, ”she explained. “It’s not like we’re putting it in the powder. There is a blanket. So we were very, you know, intentional and we make sure we pay close attention to that stuff as well, to make sure we don’t contaminate anything. “

Their gesture has been praised on social media, but Krystal said she hopes their gesture inspires their children, as well as people around the world, to be kind. What a great story and a very sweet and cool mom.
